This short guide will help you install Windows Vista/Windows 7 from a USB stick.
You need at least a 4GB USB stick for this to work because Windows Vista/Windows 7 installation files is around 3 ½ GB.
First, fire up a command shell and type:
2. Select disk 1 (this is if the disk is called disk 1, you can see this if you type list disk)
4. Create partition primary
5. Select partition 1
7. Format fs=fat32
Now copy files using xcopy from your CD to the USB stick:
xcopy d:*.* /s /e /f e:
Assuming that the D: drive is the CD/DVD and the E: is the new formated USB stick.
Now boot from the USB stick (might need to change this in the BIOS) and the installation shall begin.
